Film studies continues to grow, as does the industry it focuses on. With great films under various production houses hitting the box office and making loads of money, film enthusiasts all around the globe are coming out of their comfort zones and exploring the world of film making.
Film studies is a discipline that deals with the various aspects of film making. Film studies include the study of everything from Hollywood blockbusters, to arthouse movies. In this course, you will study about various genres, how plots work, script writing, screenwriting, direction and critiquing too.
You will also learn about the the purpose of a genre, examples of genres for better understanding and semiotics among many other interesting topics. This course is best suited for:

Dr.Aysha Iqbal Viswamohan
Professor, Humanities and Social Sciences
Aysha Iqbal Viswamohan also holds an M.A(Literature), M.Phil(Literature) and PhD(Literature) from Vikram University, Madhya Pradesh. She works as a professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras. She was a consultant for South Asian Film Festival 2012, Vancouver, Canada. Her areas of research interests include film studies, drama and American literature.
