B-School Admission: Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI)
This course designed by IIM graduates aims at preparing candidates for the final round of top B-School Admissions in India – the Written Ability Test and Personal Interview.
Course Introduction:
Congratulations, if you have cracked the CAT and scored a high percentile! Excelling in the 4th most difficult entrance exam in the world is in itself an achievement. The CAT score is a vital parameter to get shortlisted for admissions in premier B-schools across the country. Nevertheless, the final piece in the jigsaw puzzle is yet to be placed. IIMs and top B-schools have their own selection procedure to filter the shortlisted candidates for offering final admissions. The Written Ability Test, which replaced the Group Discussion Round, and the Personal Interview are the two standard selection rounds conducted by most of these institutes to shortlist candidates who make it to the Admission Offered list.

The Written Ability Test assesses the quality of written communication as well as depth and clarity of thought of the candidate, under a very tight time constraint. The duration of WAT is different in admission processes of various institutes. For example, IIM- Bangalore gives 30 minutes to write the essay, whereas IIM-Ahmedabad gives only 10 minutes. Writing skills, the ability to generate content and speed are essential to making it through this round. The Personal Interview is generally a stress interview with questions being asked from across innumerable diverse topics.
Given the unpredictable format and nature of these selection rounds, it is a common misconception that not much can be done to prepare for the WAT/PI. While the task at hand is obviously not like memorizing a concept, conditioning yourself to optimize your performance can exponentially improve your chances of gaining admission. An aspirant should leave no stone unturned when it comes to making the most of this much – coveted opportunity.

This course has a wholesome approach to WAT with lessons on improving writing skill as well as tips to improve your knowledge for content generation. You will learn techniques to prepare for the WAT through which any person with just average writing skills can put up a great show on D-Day. A lot of research has gone into finding the optimum behavioural conditioning for interviews mentioned in the course.
The interviewers are looking for certain qualities in the candidates and your task is to distinctly, yet subtly, showcase those qualities in you. Most candidates are generally unaware of what the interviewers want, and this reflects in their preparation as it lacks direction. An opportunity of this scale deserves complete effort in the right direction. There is no definite formula to success but this course has tips and techniques which can tremendously increase your chances of getting selected.
Target Audience:
This course is for you if you have cleared an MBA entrance examination like the CAT, XAT, MAT, etc. and have received interview calls from various B-Schools across India. This course is specially designed for MBA aspirants who have little to no experience in how to go about answering a WAT and/or attending a B-School interview.
